The Saint John Police have arrested a 44-year-old man following a robbery at a restaurant on Waterloo Street.
It is reported that:
On Monday, May 19, 2025, at approximately 6:16 p.m., police were called to a restaurant in the 30-block of Waterloo Street.
It was alleged that a man armed with a weapon had entered the restaurant, damaged the cash register and demanded money.
The man fled on foot with a quantity of currency.
Officers were able to identify the suspect based on the video surveillance from the restaurant.
At approximately 7:18 p.m., officers searched a nearby building and located the suspect who was arrested for robbery, mischief, and an outstanding warrant for being unlawfully at large.
The accused was held in custody and is scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday, May 20, 2025.
No physical injuries were reported during the incident.
