(UPDATE) Murder Investigation

Update: November 26, 2025, at 12:40 p.m. 

On Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at approximately 2:38 p.m., the Saint John Police arrested a 33-year-old male in the area of St. James Street South without incident. The male was charged and held in custody for second degree murder. 

At approximately 8:30 p.m., the Saint John police with the assistance of the Saint John Integrated Street Crime Unit, arrested a 27-year-old female in the area of Pitt and Wentworth Street without incident.  The female was charged with accessory after the fact to murder and held in custody.   

Both individuals will be appearing in provincial court this afternoon. 

The investigation is on-going.

On Tuesday, November 11, 2025, at approximately 11:07 p.m., the Saint John Police responded to several calls of shots fired in the area of St. James Street in Saint John. 

Officers responded and located an unconscious 42-year-old male who had sustained a serious injury in the 182-block of St. James Street. Additional emergency responders attended to assist, and the victim was transported to hospital. Subsequently, the victim was pronounced deceased.  

This is an active and ongoing investigation. At this time in the investigation, police believe this to be an isolated incident. No arrests have been made. 

Saint John Police Forensic Identification Services and the Major Crime Unit in cooperation with the Coroner’s Office continue to investigate. Police are requesting the public in the area to check their video footage to see if they have captured anyone on their security cameras. 

The Saint John Police send our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased during this most difficult time.
