The Saint John Police Family Protection Unit are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect in a sexual assault investigation.

It is alleged that:

On Monday, January 1, 2024, at approximately 4:30 a.m., a 24-year-old victim obtained a drive from an unknown man near the intersection of Waterloo Street and Peters Street.

The suspect drove the victim to the area of Red Head Road where the victim was sexually assaulted.

The victim ran to a nearby home and the residents called the police. The victim was transported to hospital and later discharged with non-life-threatening physical injuries.

Detectives are attempting to identify the suspect described as 35-40 years old, “tan” skin, 5’10”-5’11”, dark brown buzz cut, scruffy facial hair, and driving a newer style silver SUV.

Officers have been conducting canvasses; however, detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone in the area that has dash-cam or video surveillance of the incident at the time it occurred.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Saint John Police Force at 1-506-648-3333, or if you wish to remain anonymous, contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or 1-800-222-T.I.P.S.
