On October 23 and 24, 2026, the Saint John Police Force Quick Reaction Team, in partnership with Loss Prevention Officers of various businesses located on the east side of Saint John, conducted a two-day enforcement initiative targeting retail theft.
As a result of this coordinated effort, six individuals were arrested for shoplifting and approximately $1,100 of merchandise was recovered.
Retail theft continues to be a concern for businesses and the community. Targeted initiatives such as this demonstrate how effective coordination, information sharing and proactive enforcement can help address property crime.
The Saint John Police Force remains committed to addressing retail theft through intelligence-led enforcement, strategic deployment of resources, and ongoing crime prevention efforts.
