Sudden Death Investigation – Crown Street

The Saint John Police, in cooperation with the Coroner’s Office, are investigating a sudden death following the discovery of a body at an encampment located near the intersection of Courtenay Bay Causeway and Crown Street.

It is reported that:

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at approximately 8:47 p.m., emergency crews responded to a report that a body was discovered in a tent at an encampment located near the intersection of Courtenay Bay Causeway and Crown Street.

On arrival, emergency personnel confirmed that the person was deceased. Forensic Identification Services and the Coroner were called to the scene to investigate. The deceased was transported to the hospital where an autopsy will be scheduled.

As a result of further investigation, the deceased was identified as 44-year-old Jamie Langille.

The Major Crime Unit, in cooperation with the Coroner’s Office, continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death; however, it is not believed to be criminal in nature.
